2014 Miss America Pageant Contestants: Part 1

On Sunday, September 15th, live from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, the 2014 Miss America contestants will grace the stage in colorful and stunning beauty pageant dresses. Women from every state in the U.S. have competed for the opportunity to represent their home state in this historic pageant, and it’s honestly a dream come true. So, who are these lucky ladies? Over the course of the next few week’s we’ll be introducing you to the 2014 Miss America Pageant contestants.
Miss Alabama: Representing the great state of Alabama is Chandler Champion. This 20 year old beauty was crowned Miss Alabama on June 8th. Champion is a student at the University of Alabama where she is majoring in dance and broadcast journalism. Her community service platform, Chandlers Challenge: Reading is Believing – Don’t Stop Believing, encourages people to read every day.
Miss Alaska: Michelle Taylor is a 20 year old from Anchorage, Alaska. Taylor is studying hospitality and restaurant management at the University of Anchorage Alaska Community and Technical College. This budding beauty is a UA Scholar, and an Alaska Performance Scholar.
Miss Arizona: Jennifer Smestad will represent Arizona this fall in the 2014 Miss America Pageant. Smestad is a 20 year old communications and exercise science major at Grand Canyon University. This bright eyed girl was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome when she was 10 years old, which is why she chose Tourette Syndrome Awareness and Advocacy as her platform issue. Smestad has many accomplishments, including being a country singer and song writer.
