The Miss America Pageant is getting closer every day and our excitement continues to build here at PageantDesigns.com! As we count down the days to the big pageant, we continue our look at the lovely ladies who are competing to be crowned this year’s Miss America. Miss Nebraska: JaCee Pilkington hails from Minatare Nebraska. At 21, this accomplished Doane College student is determined to obtain a Juris Doctorate and masters of business administration in a dual major program. She plans on wowing the judges with her vocal skills and her career ambition is to open a non-profit organization to assist military personnel.

Miss Nevada: With a life mission to help others, Diana Sweeney from Moundhouse, Nevada is well on her way to achieving her dreams. Attending the University of Nevada Reno, Sweeney is planning to obtain a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. in both math and education—and to become a college mathematics professor. In addition to supporting her platform of “Special Olympics: Special Deeds for Special Needs,” Sweeney, now 20, will perform a lyrical dance number for the judges.

Miss New Hampshire: A nationally ranked collegiate sportscaster, Samantha Russo is hoping to turn her passion into a sports broadcasting career. The 23 year old's platform is “Kick Butts: Tobacco Education and Prevention.” Russo’s family and friends in Nashua, and her colleagues at Emerson College will be cheering her on as she serenades the judges with her vocal talents at this year’s Miss America pageant.

Miss New Jersey: At age 21, Cara McCollum dreams of graduating from Princeton University with an English degree and to become a writer and broadcaster. Her platform issue of “Giving the Gift of Reading” shares her passion with others and makes her hometown of Princeton proud. She’ll be performing a piano piece for the Miss America judges.

Miss New Mexico: Dreaming of a career in public relations, 22 year old Alexis Victoria Duprey is attending New Mexico State University and hopes to obtain a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies. Duprey’s platform issue is “The Power of One: Single Parent Families” and she’ll be performing a vocal number for the judges on Pageant night.
