Jun 27th 2011
Is it your dream to be famous one day? What little girl doesn’t dream of being a star? Well, there are many famous faces that have graced the pageant stage! You could be the next one—if you walk with confidence in a dress from Pageant Designs. We can’t promise you fame, of course. But we can promise that you’ll look and feel your best when you participate in a pageant. Let’s take a look at some famous beauty pageant winners (and losers!).
Famous Pageant Faces
- Oprah Winfrey was Miss Black Tennessee in 1971. We all know how famous she became!
- We talked a bit last time about how Halle Berry was the runner up in the 1986 Miss USA pageant.
- Diane Sawyer was America’s Junior Miss 1963. She now ranks as one of the highest paid newswomen in history.
- Vanessa Williams was the first African American to win the Miss America pageant in 1984. She had to resign when some less-than-modest photos came to light. She became a wonderful singer and actress since, though.
- Gretchen Carlson was 1989’s Miss America. She joined Fox News in 2005.
- Jeri Ryan was Miss Illinois in 1989, competing in the 1990 Miss America pageant. She went on to have a successful television career.
- Sharon Stone was Miss Crawford County in 1976. She went on to be a huge movie star.
- Who could forget Tiffani-Amber Thiessen? The Miss Junior America winner was extremely successful on shows like Saved by the Bell.
- And Raquel Welch was Miss San Diego. She was considered to be one of the world’s most attractive women. She has many film credits to her name.
What’s your ambition? Can a beauty pageant and the right pageant accessories get you there?
