If you’ve been following along with us all month long, we hope our tips have been helpful to you. And if you haven’t, please read our last three ‘Get Your Head in the Pageant Game’ blog posts before this one! Thus far we have taken time out for inspirational quotes, and let the music carry us away and get us amped. Now the time has come to embrace the mind-body connection. The two are as intertwined as could be, with each having a pronounced effect on how the other performs and operates. If you want to free your mind and get your head in the game, you’re going to have to get your body there, too!

Getting physical doesn’t have to mean hitting the soccer field or lifting weights at the gym. Of course, if those are the types of physical activities you and your body usually enjoy and benefit from, have at it! We are all unique in what works for us, and learning the activities that we enjoy and feel rejuvenated from can go a long way toward enriching our overall health and happiness. Personally, I feel refreshed inside and out after a slow yoga session. I don’t like being too warm, so hot yoga makes me anxious, but I have friends who swear by it! I also like making myself plenty of space on the floor to really stretch and pay attention to areas I’m tight or holding stress. A long walk through nature is nice as well, and I can’t resist taking a dip in the pool. All of these activities help me put my worries out of mind for a bit, and put the focus on how I’m feeling physically as well as mentally. And, as it turns out, when my body is happier, so is my mind. So, getting my body in the game gets my head in the game, as well. Give it a try!
