Prom Night Lipstick Tricks

One of the most important aspects of your prom or semi-formal ensemble is your makeup.  When you’re getting ready for the big day, pay special attention to your lipstick.  Here at Promheadquarters, we have a few tips and tricks to help you make the most of your lipstick on prom night.

• Pick one feature and run with it.  If you choose to amp up the lipstick, then stick with that.  If you’ve got heavy lipstick and heavy eyeshadow you might end up looking a little overdone.

• Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with a lip liner first.  Try a nude or light-colored liner, and put your lipstick on top.  It’s also a good trick for applying lip gloss.  The liner actually gives the gloss something to stick to.  This is ideal for keeping your lipstick going all evening!

• Did you know that you can prevent those ghastly lipstick lines on your drinking glass?  Just give your lips a little lick before you sip, and it shouldn’t rub off quite as much.

• If your lipstick breaks off, it’s not the end of the world.  You can fix it!  Take the broken portion out of the tube and wave a lit match under the broken piece of lipstick.  When it’s melted a bit, you can put it back on the base.  Swivel it around a bit, and put it in the fridge.  Make sure you leave it uncovered.  Voila!  Good as new.  This can be a helpful trick in a pinch.
