Snow Ball Theme Ideas

Nov 7th 2010

Your school might not have a traditional homecoming dance, but they might have a fun winter snow ball.  Now is the time to start thinking about planning this great event, and Promheadquarters is here to help you with some fun snow ball themes.  Get ready to start shopping for formal or semi-formal dresses, and gear up for a night of fun!

Christmas Theme

Turn the winter formal into a Christmas-themed dance to spread some holiday cheer before everyone leaves for Christmas break. The venue can be decorated in the usual Christmas fare: silver bells, holly, twinkling lights, red and green accent colors, wrapped gifts and mistletoe. The theme can be incorporated not just in the decorations, but throughout the dance.  For example, you could serve non-alcoholic eggnog instead of punch, and Christmas cookies.

Snow Theme

For a more secular winter formal, you can focus on the beauty and splendor of the season.  Snow falling, icicles forming, and lakes freezing over are some good ideas. Use some of the sights of a winter’s night when decorating the venue.  For example, hang paper snowflakes from the ceiling and icicle lights from the door frames, and lay strips of cotton on flat surfaces for the illusion of fallen snow.
