Announcing 2018 Prom Dress Styles!

Posted by PromHeadquarters on May 10th 2018

Hi there! Isn't it fun to know all about the new styles before they're even officially announced? You can choose a dress style that's going to be "in" before everyone else at your prom does, and be the 2010 prom dress style expert among your friends! We've been giving sneak peeks into prom 2019 on our IG (follow us for updates!), and we're here to give you some inside info on popular 2019 prom dress styles we're seeing:

1. Color - Boring prom dresses? Not anymore. Color is the way to go this season. Yellow has always been a popular shade and is making a huge comeback this year. New shades like Mauve, Dusty Pink and Lilac are being introduced as well.

2. Hi-Los are Back (But Better)- Hi-Lo prom dresses were popular in the early 2010's and wouldn't you know they're making a comeback. Rachel Allan is bringing this style back in a modern way with shorts instead of skirts, giving us romper feels (so cute) with formal flare.

3. Off-Shoulder and Cold-Shoulder Necklines - One of this season's HOTTEST trends is off-shoulder and cold-shoulder sleeves. Although cold-shoulder sleeves are normally reserved for more casual tops, the prom industry has taken over this trend and we are here for it.

4. Overlay Skirts - Originating on the couture bridal runway, overlay skirts have made their way to the prom world and we are LIVING. Typically paired with a sheath skirt (but sometimes with shorts or pants), this prom trend gives you that extra something to stand out, perfect for Seniors or our pageant ladies.

5. Back Slit Prom Dresses- While front slits, whether thigh high or centered, have always been around, this season may companies are opting for a classier, more modest option - the back slit. Think of it as a formal mullet of sorts (lol). Formal in the front, party in the back. They make walking super easy, a huge plus.

We know you'll look great in any 2019 prom dress, but we hope these tips help you during your prom dress shopping. Are there any other prom 2019 trends you're into? Let us know by commenting below!
