Answers to Impress: Miss Universe 2010

As anyone in the pageant world knows, the question and answer period is important.  It's a chance for the beauties to prove that they have brains, too.  (And that's more important!)  Let's recap what the top 5 in this year's Miss Universe Pageant had to say.

Ultimate winner, Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete, was asked about her “views on what to do about the problem of children using the internet without proper supervision.”  She said that the internet is a necessary tool for children, and that “we must best use [the internet] to teach them the values that we learned as a family.”

An intelligent, poised answer pushed her through to the crown!

The biggest flub of the evening probably came from Miss Philippines, Venus Raj.  She was asked about her “biggest mistake in life, and what she did to fix it.”  She said, “In my 22 years of existence, I can say there is nothing major.”

That didn't impress the judges.  Why?  Well, we think it's because they were looking for a little bit of humility.  She didn't really think on her feet.
