In order to look as good as possible in your pageant dress you have to exercise, eat right, and stay healthy. Please note, we don’t mean to stop eating altogether; that is nowhere near staying healthy! By eating right we mean: eating the right foods. Here is some advice on exercising, eating right, and staying healthy for pageants.
- Instead of filling your diet with refined sugars and carbohydrates start eating high protein foods such as egg whites and fish. You should also eat green vegetables and fresh fruit.
- Eat healthy everyday, and not just on or around a pageant day.
- Base the size and frequency of meals on your day to day life. If you’re active and busy from day to day, then you should be consuming more calories than if you weren’t moving around as much.
- Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day. More than half of our body weight is water, and when we don’t drink our bodies begin to retain water causing us to gain weight. In addition, drinking water helps to make you less hungry.
- Cardio training is one of the best exercises to prevent weight gain and lower body fat. We recommend 30 minutes to an hour of cardio exercise each day.
- If you’re having a difficult time sticking to scheduled exercise routines then try exercising with a friend, or listening to your favorite music while you work out.
