Winning Pageant Hair

Winning Pageant Hair

Jun 10th 2011

What sort of hairstyle can help you win a beauty pageant? Logic tells you to look at the shape of your face and see what works best for you… but what do the statistics say? While the latest hairstyle trends might be on the shorter side, the odds are more in your favor to win a pageant if you have longer hair. In fact, many of the big winners in the past several years have had long hair. And it gets even more specific! The hairstyle that is the most likely to win you a pageant is long, down, and wavy.

Why do you think that is? Most pageant judges are looking for a glamorous appearance from contestants. But you have to strike that balance between glamour and what looks natural and becoming on you. You should also take your talent into consideration when you’re constructing your overall look. You’ll also want to be able to comfortably move around in all stages of the beauty pageant.

Interestingly enough, the top five contestants in the 2009 Miss America pageant all had the same hairstyle.

What was it?

Long, down, and wavy.
